How to Save Money on Hair Products Without Compromising Quality

A sexy hairstyle can surely give you a distinctive personality. People die for a hairdo that is just like one of their favorite celebrities.

In fact they are willing to spend hundreds (even thousands) of dollars every month for getting that perfect hairstyle.

But unfortunately many of us can’t afford to just throw away our hard earned money for getting a particular hairstyle.

Hence I wrote this article giving you some handy tips to save money on hair products. You would obviously like to wear those curls and coils but also would want to save some money on it.

Stick to the Basics

In the end we all want our hair to be moisturized. You can moisturize your hair with plain water or some other type of liquid.

You just have to follow the fundamentals: cleanse, moisturize and seal.

Another basic thing that you can do is air dry your hair for a longer period.

If you have time then you can simply leave your hair to dry but if you want to speed up the process then you can use a blower.

I guess doing these two things doesn’t need much of your money.

Start With Homemade Products

You can save hundreds of dollars on hair products by just looking into your kitchen.

Take an example, for sealing moisture you can always use olive oil. But if you want to do more then you can also use butter or coconut oil.

Products like Flax seeds, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, Coconut Oil etc can always be found in your home.

Instead of buying products worth $200 to $300 you can buy Flax seeds or Chia seeds for just $2 or $3 and prepare a hair gel for one time.

Try Fewer Products and Latch on to the Best One

You got to differentiate between products which are absolutely necessary from those which aren’t.

For example a shampoo, a conditioner and a leave-in conditioner are absolutely must however styling products like gel or hair sprays can be avoided.

If you want to experiment with a shampoo or a new conditioner then buy fewer of them, experiment the products and quickly latch on to the best one.

You don’t want to waste your money trying a new product every week as it comes out in the market.

While Trying a New Hair Product Always Follow the Instructions

If you are not following instructions given on a product properly then you won’t get the desired results.

You falsely make a conclusion that the product is worthless and you race towards the nearest drugstore and buy a new one.

Thus you end up buying more products which are really unnecessary.

Sometime it happens that your hair needs a bit more of dosage then given in the instructions but you really don’t know how much more you have to add it.

Therefore you waste the product without getting desired results.

Trim Your Hair Once a Month

How do you treat your split ends?

Off course trimming on regular basis is the best way to get rid of the split ends.

Otherwise you can end up spending a fortune on treating split ends. So it is smart to trim your hair regularly and save a lot of money on treating split ends.

For trimming your hair you can do it by yourself or take a help from one of your friends.

Finally you can always visit a beauty school and get your hair trimmed there.

Do NOT Buy Conditioners and Shampoos at the Pharmacy Stores

We spent our most of the money on buying different types of conditioners and shampoos. We buy moisturizing conditioners, deep conditioners, leave-in conditioners and many others for our hair.

If you buy these conditioners from a pharmacy store or a grocery store then it may cost you an arm and a leg.

You can get the same product for lesser price on Amazon or eBay.

Moreover it is absolutely not necessary that an expensive conditioner is always good for your hair.

Type of Conditioner You Use

As I said earlier in my last paragraph there are different types of conditioners you use.

If you are not a hair expert then you may not be able to figure out which type of hair conditioner is best for you.

Everyone has a different requirement, some may like to use diluted regular conditioner and others may prefer a leave-in conditioner.

For example you don’t have to spend on leave-in conditioners. You can buy a conditioner that serves many purposes. A regular conditioner can be used as a leave-in conditioner and also as a deep conditioner at times.

So choose a conditioner wisely.

Grandma’s Advice

There are so many small tricks and tips that you can follow and save a lot of money.

For example don’t wash your hair every day. You should wash it every other day. Washing daily hardens your hair because your hair loses all the moisture.

You can use apple cider vinegar instead of a conditioner & clarifying shampoo. You don’t have to prepare the apple cider vinegar at home because you can buy it for just $3 or $4 from a chemist shop.

You can also use less expensive oils and butters to seal in moisture instead of buying a product that worth $100 or more.

You can also avoid coloring your hair and save a lot of money or you can do this at home instead of a saloon.

Do it Yourself

Avoid going for a master stylist because it can cost you a huge amount of money.

First of all you can trim your hair on your own or ask a friend for a help. If you can’t get a help or trim on your own then you can visit a beauty school.
